We live in a world where feminism helps to make a much-needed change for women everywhere. Paige Spiranac has emerged as an inspiration for many who want to pursue an online career. After retiring from professional golf in 2016, she created her empire of over 11 million followers across all social media channels. However, it took much work for the former golfer. She suffered body shaming and got trolled for her online content.

Many people criticized her, and at one point, she was broken. However, she fought the odds. Eventually, she became the second most influential woman in golf in 2022. It was with her hard work and consistency that, despite all hurdles, she rose to great heights. Therefore, when she received further scrutiny last year, she decided to address the matter.

Paige Spiranac clapped back

Lisa Boothe of FOX news called out the former golfer for her content and body last year. She asked and wrote, “If you objectify your own body by posing on the cover of Maxim, do you get to complain when you don’t get the objectification you wanted? My thoughts on Paige Spiranac.”

According to her, if the internet queen decides to show off her body, is the attention she recieves for it gratuitous. The bold and beautiful Spiranac was not going to let it go quickly. She clapped back and said, “I clearly stated a big part of my brand is my body, and that comes with a territory.” She further appreciated that Boothe did not want to fat shame her. Appreciating her, she said, “I do believe people can and should state their opinions without being cruel for no reason. Exactly like you did. You explained yourself without fat shaming or slut shaming me, and I respect that”

Getting fat-shamed or trolled is sadly part and parcel of the job. Earlier, it was tough for the golf beauty to deal with everything due to her childhood traumas and experiences. But slowly, she gained confidence and permanently shut down all her bullies and trollers. Once, she had to delete numerous comments because people kept calling her fat. She said many men called her ‘fat,’ and it was next level. It takes a toll, and Spiranac was not untouched.

Don’t mess with Spiranac

Another similar incident occurred in 2017 when an ESPN personality, Sarah Spain, called her out. They featured Spiranac on the cover of Golf Digest, which was not acceptable to Spain. According to her, the former golfer could attain that position only because she revealed her body online. She did not have the talent.

Spiranac was not going to sit and let it go by. She gave a fitting reply. She was golf content available as well on her platform, but people need to talk about it. She said, “it’s kind of funny that she’s all for women, and yet she turns around and says something about me. And I feel like I do a lot for golf that people don’t talk about.”
