Ah yes, the glamorous wife of WAGs. To be honest, who wouldn’t want their lives? A successful spouse, all the comforts the world can provide, and front-row seats to all the action. From the outside, it seems like winning the lottery and then finding a four-leaf clover. But is it just ups and no downs whatsoever? Certainly not.
Jena Sims Koepa, the wife of Smash GC captain Brooks Koepka, will be the first to say no. An accomplished model and actress herself, she married Koepka in June 2022. They also have a baby boy named Crew, who was born on July 27, 2023. The couple seem to be very outgoing and are active on social media. But like all of us, the Koepkas, too, have their fair share of problems to deal with.

There’s no denying it—a sportsman’s spouse is their most unwavering support. When the victories come, the world cheers alongside you. But when things go sideways, the world quickly turns its back, and that’s when family steps in to help you regroup for the next challenge. For Brooks Koepka, his wife, Jena Sims, has been that rock, riding the highs and lows that come with a life on the PGA Tour. The model-turned-philanthropist has seen it all—both the glory and the struggles—and Koepka’s performances affect her directly, every win and every missed shot.
In a recent “Let’s Catch Up” segment on her Instagram, a fan asked if she gets nervous watching Brooks play—whether on TV or in person. Her response? Pure honesty. “Depends on how he is playing. Saw him get thiiiiiiis close to a hole in 1 so my anxiety spiked,” Sims confessed. The Story featured an image of that near-miss, captured live on TV. It’s a moment every golf fan can relate to—that collective holding of breath as the ball edges just shy of perfection. As of now, Koepka is competing in the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship in Scotland, and you can bet his wife is watching every swing, every putt, nerves and all.
Koepka isn’t the only one who’s faced challenges recently. Little Crew Sims Koepka was spotted wearing a protective helmet in a social media post, prompting concern among fans. Jena clarified that their baby was born prematurely and suffers from torticollis—a condition causing stiffness in the neck that makes it difficult for Crew to turn his head. It’s a tough road, but if there’s one thing this family has proven, it’s resilience. Brooks himself has battled injury after injury, each setback no doubt weighing heavily on his loved ones, especially Jena.

Brooks Koepka’s injury problems
Brooks Koepka’s career is a testament to grit, but it’s also a story of pain—some of it almost unimaginable. The worst came in March 2021, when an accident at home left him facing a brutal knee injury. It started with a slip, a fall, and ended with a dislocated kneecap and a torn patella tendon. Things got even worse when Koepka tried to fix it himself. Attempting to pop his knee back into place, he shattered his kneecap entirely and tore his medial patellofemoral ligament. “My foot was turned out, and when I snapped it back in, because the kneecap had already shattered, it went in pretty good. It went in a lot easier,” Koepka recalled—a chilling understatement from the former world No. 1.
But that wasn’t his only battle. In 2017, Koepka tore a tendon in his left wrist, sidelining him for 15 weeks—an eternity for a competitor of his caliber. Then came 2019, when he underwent a stem cell procedure to repair a torn labrum in his left knee, only for the injury to flare up again after his accident in 2021. It didn’t stop there—issues with his hip and knees forced Koepka to withdraw from tournaments in both 2020 and again in 2023. For a man whose entire career depends on precision and strength, these injuries could have been career-ending.

And yet, through it all, Koepka has fought his way back, refusing to let injuries define him. Behind the scenes, it’s clear that he hasn’t faced these battles alone. How important is it to have a spouse like Jena Sims by his side through these moments—the setbacks, the surgeries, and the slow road to recovery? It’s not just about support; it’s about someone who helps pick up the pieces when everything seems shattered, someone who keeps the faith when doubts creep in.
