Social media is really a powerful place. Recently, 2x-time major winner Bryson DeChambeau and the former U.S. President, Donald Trump, partnered up for a charity golf game on DeChambeau’s “Break 50” series. And ever since, the fans and other golfers have not seemed to stop talking about it. DeChambeau and Trump really hit it off in the video while having conversations and showcasing their skills.
The video got so popular that even The Rick Shiels Golf Show couldn’t resist talking about it in their podcast series episode 261. “Donald Trump could really hit it,” said Shiels, talking about Trump’s gameplay in the YouTube video. “Certainly, his putting was probably the most unusual putting style I’ve ever seen in my life,” he continued, taking a jab at Trump.
And well, it is true. Trump missed 12 putts while playing with DeChambeau in the video, so this statement sort of fits. Regardless of his poor short game, Trump also made some crucial putts, including the final one, and finished 22 under par.

“But he seems to make it work. For a 78-year-old man, he played some solid golf”, Shiels said, and man, is that true? It’s almost impossible for men that age to play such incredible golf with someone utterly younger than them. Thirty-year-old DeChambeau was also in awe of his skills and exclaimed in excitement when the game ended. “Let’s go! That’s how we do it! We shot 22 under, oh my gosh!” said DeChambeau.
That was not the only time DeChambeau complimented Trump’s skills. According to Golf.com, DeChamebeau said, “We thought it would be great to showcase his golfing ability, and he’s a pretty good golfer,” talking about Trump’s gameplay he witnessed while making his YouTube video. There have been many instances in the past that have showcased the strong bond between Trump and DeChambeau.
