Life shows you its unpredictability in the most heartbreaking of ways. Puma Dominguez of the PGA Tour Americas is one such victim of a severe jolt given by life. The talented Argentinian golfer was playing exceedingly well at the Totalplay Championship when he received the news of his wife’s critical condition.

He quickly withdrew despite being inside the cut line and rushed to be home with his family, only to discover that his beloved Victoria Dominguez was no more. The 38-year-old’s wife tragically passed away due to a severe case of dengue fever.

Her tragic passing has left behind the 38-year-old and their two children, Constantino and Hipólito, who are aged 4 and 1, respectively. Sadly, the PGA Tour Americas’ golfer was traveling to be with her when this “truly heartbreaking news” came to light, shattering the hearts of thousands of the family’s well-wishers.

The golf world was not far behind in expressing their heartfelt condolences for the grieving family. The Argentinian golfer’s loss affected friends, colleagues, and fans alike. Golf World gives alongside Puma Dominguez and family

Grief transcended boundaries when the entirety of the golf world united to express their condolences to Puma Dominguez for the loss of the love of his life. It was the shared opinion of many that it was rather “awful” news to hear.

One of the fans pointed out how it is extremely rare for a person to die of dengue in contemporary times, even in cases of severe dengue.  They wrote, “Damn this is awful to hear…and bizarre. Death from dengue is pretty rare even with severe dengue.” 

Expressing his heartfelt condolences, Puma Dominguez’s close friend, Jaime Lopez Rivarola, who was also teeing it up alongside Dominguez at the Totalplay Championship, said, I want to obviously send a big hug. We want him to know we are thinking about him and that all his friends and coworkers are with him. We don’t want him to feel alone.” Rivarola also talked about how he feels disturbed, knowing the frailty of life that has come to light after the passing of Victoria Dominguez. He added that it was one of the reasons that preoccupied his mind and affected his performance, and he sent good wishes his grieving friend’s way.

It was not just his colleagues but also many of his fans who tried to support the star in these testing times. Even though life has presented him with an entangled mosaic of difficulties, the golf world seems to have united to mourn his beloved wife’s untimely departure. One fan wrote, “Wow. That’s terrible. Feel for him,” while another remarked, “Sending my most heartfelt condolences.”
