Being in a position where all your moves are sought-after by fans is a common occurrence in the world of celebrities and athletes, and if you think golf isn’t a part of this studded realm, then you are so wrong. The last few years have seen some golfing figures make it big in the SNS world not just because of their gameplay but also for their lifestyle vlogging.
In the midst of all this, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that while many stars from the golf world have public accounts on some social networking platforms, not many have an account on all. In a recent series of events, Charley Hull, the English LPGA star, has opened up to fans about identity theft and asked them to beware of fake accounts. Here’s what the golfer has said.

On her Instagram story, recently, Charley Hull updated her fans about fake accounts pretending to be her. The star has an avid IG following and has also gained some due attention on her Twitter profile. The player uploads her daily updates related to her games and her personal life on her IG mostly, and all other news directly from Hull comes from her Twitter. These two are the only platforms she is active on.
Hull updated the fans about fake TikTok accounts pretending to be her. The golfer posted a random picture on her IG story with a caption: “I do NOT have a Tick-Tock [TikTok] account. So if you are following one of me that is fake!”
The player asked her fans to report the fake accounts if they found any and concluded the caption with, “And please report.”
This isn’t the first time a star from the world of golf has asked their fans to be aware of all the fake accounts on SNS. Paige Spiranac, the golf influencer, and Jin Young Ko, the Women’s British Open Champion, have also asked their fans to be watchful of identity thefts and not follow bogus accounts.

Social media sensation Paige Spiranac has faced numerous challenges due to impersonators creating fake social media accounts in her name. Earlier this year, the influencer revealed her struggles on her podcast, describing how these impostors create fake IDs and documents. Due to her popularity, Spiranac had to report around 20 fake accounts daily.
Furthermore, some months back, the LPGA star, Jin Young Ko, faced a similar situation with an impersonator account on Instagram. Ko issued a cautionary warning to her followers, asking them to follow accounts with blue verification ticks to avoid falling victim to such scams.
