During the 2023 Masters, golfer Sam Bennett, was all over the news due to his incredible T16 finish at the event. The 23-year-old had also clinched the Silver Cup as a low amateur in that tournament.

Sam Bennett takes a big step in his career in iconic fashion

Sam Bennett has participated in tons of golfing tournaments over the past years, but the opening round at the 2023 Memorial Tournament was extra special for the golfer. After all, the ongoing event at Muirfield is Bennett’s first since he made the jump to a professional career.

The Augusta National darling will also be participating in the RBC Canadian Open next week, which will be followed by an appearance in the U.S. Open. Bennett is likely to receive more sponsor exemptions before the season ends. Moreover, the former Texas A&M player will also have status on the Korn Ferry Tour this year, thanks to his fifth-place on the final PGA Tour University rankings.

On the other hand, the golfer continues to build his name-image-likeness (NIL) chest with massive deals. Just ahead of appearing at the Memorial Tournament, Bennett entered into a partnership with johnnie-O, a golf apparel company. “With my amateur days behind me and I now enter into my professional career, I’m excited to announce that I’m officially joining #TeamJO with @johnnieobrand.” Currently, the apparel company’s annual revenue is near $25,000,000.

Most recently, Bennett also turned his NIL deal into a huge sponsorship with sports equipment manufacturing company Ping.

The inception of NIL deals in amateur golf has greatly helped brands kick off business relationships with the best collegiate players in the world in hopes that it will turn into something even bigger down the line. Ping Golf did the same, signing Sam Bennett during his time at Texas A&M. Recently, Bennett was further unveiled as Ping’s Tour staff member before his pro debut at Muirfield.

While the financial terms of the multi-year agreement are not known, the golfer has been spotted with Ping clubs in his bag. The golfer now joins the Tour staff roster, which boasts the likes of Tony Finau, Viktor Hovland, Tyrrell Hatton, and Corey Conners, among others.
