No longer the force he used to be, John Daly plays his trade at the PGA Tour Champions nowadays. However, his participation at the PNC Championship attracts a large audience, thanks to his relationship with his son, John Daly II. The 19-year-old plays golf regularly and has won a few events in the junior circuits. But he gave his father his biggest gift when he followed in his footsteps by playing collegiate golf at the University of Arkansas.
John Daly’s son becomes a Razorback
The year 2020 was already a painful one for Daly. In September of that year, the two-time major championship winner revealed to the world that he was suffering from bladder cancer. However, he was about to be a proud father of his son’s achievement a few months down the line.

The 19-year-old avid golfer, affectionately called ‘Little John’, joined the University of Arkansas to play his collegiate golf. He walked in the footsteps of his father, who played for the Razorbacks from 1984 to 1987, and remains a loyal fan of the college team.

Upon hearing the news, John Daly couldn’t hold his excitement. He shared the news with the world through a social media post, which featured Little John holding the Razorbacks flag.

How well does John Daly’s son play golf?
While he hasn’t had the fans gasping yet, John Daly II is gradually forming his own fanbase. He follows the same principle of the ‘grip-it-and-rip-it’ philosophy that his father was famous for. He has won quite a few events in his age group as well, including the victory at the 2020 International Junior Golf Tour’s Fall Kickoff event.
It remains a special win for the teenager since it came three days after John Daly’s cancer revelation. Little John kept his emotions under control to fire an impressive final-round score of 68 to secure the title.
The 19-year-old is also a regular partner to his father at the annual PNC Championship. His performances have caught the eye in recent years, most notable in Team Daly’s performance at the 2021 edition of the tournament, where they secured victory.
