PGA Tour commissioner Jay Monahan may have initiated the $3 billion merger but his belief in his tour being the most dominant one remains home. A few days ago only he has expressed those views and now following the example of Monahan is another PGA loyalist Rory McIlroy.
While McIlroy’s hatred towards LIV Golf remains consistent, the merger has softened his tone towards his enemies. But he still believes the PGA is the superior power in golf and uses every chance to express it. Just more than a month ago McIlroy has said that “If LIV Golf was the last place to play golf on earth, I would retire. That’s how I feel about it. Seriously.” And now he is ready to shor a strict pathway for them.
Rory McIlroy is ready to show the path to LIV Golf as long as the PGA Tour is in lead.

Though he took some time to digest the news of the shocking merger, McIlroy quickly let his feelings known by announcing that he hates LIV Golf. But he also acknowledges that in retrospect the deal will prove profitable for all. And after Monahan asserted dominance in golf, Rory followed suit.
Speaking on the matter of aiding LIV Golf, he has recently said “I have met the guys that are involved in PIF. I’ve sat with Yaseer. I have talked with him. I don’t know what his beliefs are. But at the same time, I have lived in Dubai.” McIlroy says that he lived in Dubai for 4 years and some of his closest friends are from there.
So he will be a hypocrite if he doesn’t criticize his friends and the PIF people. McIlroy adds that at the end of the day what he sees is that PIF is really interested in golf and they want to get into the system. “We can provide them a pathway to get within a system where they are not taking over the sport.”

According to Rory, it will neutralize any threat of LIV becoming something that it hopefully shouldn’t become and they play within the boundaries that are set within the sport. After Monahan, McIlroy tries his best attempt to show that PGA will always be in dominance.
Mohahan refuses direct comments on LIV’s future
A few days ago Monahan expressed similar sentiment. When at a press conference he was asked about the future of LIV in upcoming he said, “I’m not going to talk publicly about them until we’ve completed those discussions and I can answer that question specifically and directly.” Monahan has indirectly hinted that after the merger PGA Tour holds charge of LIV and its future. And now McIlroy exudes similar feelings.
