In a press conference at the upcoming CME Group Tour Championship, LPGA pro Angel Yin was asked about her goofy persona with Team America on the back end and her performance at the 2023 Solheim Cup as the captain’s pick. The player talked about the role she takes in the team, mentioning that she never openly addresses it in front of the media because she doesn’t like the role being seen as that in relation to her seniority to rookies.
“I am a person that believes everyone is equal. Other than the captains that are leaders, everyone in the team room is equal, and I don’t really like the seniority rule,” the golfer said. Talking about the team overall, the 25-year-old added, “…We all adapted really well, and this year’s team was a lot quieter than normal, but everyone doesn’t really need to speak much.”
The golfer mentioned that almost everyone on the team was on the same wavelength, and that worked well for them. She also added that it is a good momentum for the team for the coming Solheim Cup years. “Obviously we wished to have won going into next year, but I think where we are and with the team we have, it’s good. It’s really good,” Yin concluded.
