Just at the age of 20 years old, the young golf prodigy Rose Zhang has made such incredible achievements one could only dream of. Her amazing feat of breaking the record of Tiger Woods at Stanford University brought her international fame. Since then she has continued to improve her career graph.
And months after joining the prestigious LPGA Tour, yet again she has brought the spotlight on herself. A big national glory moment has come calling for the star and she has accepted it with pride and graciousness. Let’s dive into the story.

Rose Zhang bags a major opportunity to represent her country
Since turning pro with the Mizuho Open and winning it, expectations are high from Rose Zhang. And with her recent big feat, the LPGA rookie has proved that she is eager to fulfill all the expectations. On Monday, Zhang was selected to represent the United States in the Solheim Cup.
This year’s Solheim Cup will be held next month in Spain, from 22 – 24 September. Rose’s name, along with eight other players, including Jennifer Kupcho, Danielle Kang, Andrea Lee, and Lexi Thompson, was announced as the automatic qualifiers for Team US.
Rose Zhang, who has been a picture of consistency ever since turning pro earlier this year, earned her qualification as she is among the highest-ranked American players in the Rolex Women’s World Golf Ranking.

Speaking about this amazing opportunity, she told ESPN, “It’s going to be incredible,” she said, “The fact that I was able to become a member in my first event, that just gave me a glimmer of hope to make the Solheim Cup.” Before this, she played in two US Junior Solheim Cups during her amateur career.

Who all will accompany Zhang to the Solheim Cup?
Joining Zhang in Spain next month will be Andrea Lee, Jennifer Kupcho, Lexi Thompson, Danielle Kang, Lilia Vu, Nelly Korda, Allisen Corpuz and 2023 CPKC Women’s winner Megan Khang. The captain of Team US for this year is Stacy Lewis. She has chosen Ally Ewing, Cheyenne Knight, and Angel Yin as her captain’s picks. They will be playing against Team Europe.
