If you ask any golf enthusiast about the most shocking news this week, they’ll likely mention LIV Golf without a doubt. The reason? Well, the PIF-backed tour has been making back-to-back shocking headlines. First, on January 13th, LIV Golf announced Scott O’Neil as its new CEO, marking the end of Greg Norman’s reign. But before people could even process this news, LIV Golf has now dropped another bombshell shocking many. The league has partnered with a $20.95 billion company. Yes, we are talking all Fox here!

As per LIV Golf’s latest Instagram update, they’ve partnered with TV broadcaster Fox Sports. The post captioned, “Game-changing players. Game-changing coverage. LIV Golf is now on FOX! #LIVGolf.” While showcasing this big achievement, some of the top LIV Golf players shared the news. Bryson DeChambeau said, “The future of golf is on Fox,” while Jon Rahm was spotted saying, “Tune in to LIV Golf on Fox.”

But amidst all this, did you really think that critics of LIV Golf were going to stay quiet? Not a chance! Just a few hours after the FOX-LIV Golf update, the loudest critic of LIV Golf, Brandel Chamblee, took it to X to express his bold opinion. He commented on Fore Play’s post, questioning Fox Sports’s ethical values. “Looking forward to the specific financials… Did Fox pay a rights fee, or was this another time buy?” he expressed, suggesting that the broadcasting might have charged Scott O’Neil to buy broadcasting rights for LIV events.

But things did not end here. When one golf enthusiast questioned Phil Mickelson‘s hater, why he cared so much, and commented, “I’ve never seen him positively cover LIV. Weird, I know. Lol.” The 62-year-old then backfired, “Why would anyone who is not being paid to obscure their objectivity “cover”?

According to the 62-year-old insider, LIV can’t claim victories without using its money. He further stated that LIV Golf’s money “comes from the sewer and the product stinks worse than the source,” referring to LIV Golf’s association with the Saudi government which has low sewerage rates, and an insufficient wastewater management system.

Interestingly, this wasn’t LIV Golf’s only partnership this year. O’Neil’s league has also shared its 2025 calendar year, which might just shock critics like Chamblee even more.
