Michelle Wie West is a name that needs no introduction in women’s golf. In early years of her career, she was dubbed “the Tiger Woods of women’s golf”. The 2014 US Women’s Open victory marked the apex of her professional career and created quite a stir.

She stepped away from golf last year on account of health issues, saddening her fans not a little. They all prayed for her return, and guess what she has returned! Yes, she will be playing in the upcoming US Women’s Open at the Pebble Beach Golf Links, thanks to an exemption that comes from her 2014 triumph.

There is a strong indication that this could be her final major as a pro, meaning the spotlight will be on her all through the tournament. In the lead-up to the event, she is practicing real hard, however, something got in her way as per her Instagram stories. Let’s find out more.

The effects of the weather on golfers’ games are nothing new though. The AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am’s third round was postponed in February of this year due to strong winds.  Though having been out of the game for a while, Wie West needs to get as much practice as possible. Any hindrance, no matter how small, can make a big difference for her in the upcoming tournament.
