This year has been the most fruitful year of his professional career since his debut in 2017. How has Wyndham Clark’s OWGR been impacted after his US Open 2023 win?

A year ago, after his 2022 US Open appearance, the golfer was ranked in the 241st position but has now made an incredible climb of 228 positions to reach the 13th position in the Official World Golf Rankings.

When the golfer entered the 2023 US Open, he was ranked 32nd in the OWGR. The 29-year-old’s stellar victory against Rory McIlroy put him 0.0146 average points behind Brooks Koepka (12th) and 0.2773 average points out of the Top 10.

When the 2022 season ended, he was ranked in the 163rd position but quickly climbed into the top 100 in March this year after his stunning top five finish at the Valspar Championship. In May, after his first PGA Tour victory at Quail Hollow, he sat in the 31st position in the OWGR.

And now, the Denver-born golfer is finally in the top 15 of the world’s best golfers, and it would be utterly exciting to witness his future performances. Of course, he wasn’t the only one to jump ranks; within the top 10 OWGR standings too, there has been some significant movement post-this year’s third major championship.

Other golfers’ rankings in the OWGR after the 2023 US Open

The top spots on the OWGR leaderboard did not see a lot of change. From Scheffler still leading the ranking charts to Jon Rahm and Rory McIlroy being close behind him, the top five players have remained where they were before the major began.

However, major shifts in the leaderboard were observed from the top 6 to the top 10. While Xander Schauffele maintained his world no. 6 rank, Cameron Smith fell from 7th to 9th. Fitzpatrick stayed at number 8, like last week, and Max Homa went down to 9th from 7th. Jordan Spieth, who was ranked 10th last week, even managed to maintain his rank despite missing the cut.
