The KPMG Women’s PGA Championship concluded a few hours ago, and the golfer who stunned everyone was Ruoning Yin. She bagged a whopping $1.5 million from the $9 million purse. But it is often believed that the golfer’s victory on the course is not just due to his or her efforts alone; there is someone else as well who plays a very significant role in the golfer’s win. And that person is none other than the golfer’s caddie.
It is only morally correct for the golfer to recognize their caddie’s efforts and appreciate them for them. It appears that the 2023 Women’s PGA Championship winner is already in awe of her looper for his help and his role in the win.

Winning your first major title is a spectacular feeling, but being able to win it on one of the toughest and most historic courses in America doubles down on the joy. Such was the case for Yin after she hit her last shot at the Baltusrol Lower Course and rose to stardom. The 20-year-old is from Shanghai, China, and with her win in New Jersey, she is now a two-time winner on the LPGA Tour.
Before she hit the winning shot, she stayed calm and studied the line from every angle. She also talked it over with her caddie. After her win and during the press conference, an interviewer asked about the kind of relationship she shares with her caddie and how it has been helpful. To which the golfer replied affirmatively and said that the two clicked immediately.
The 20-year-old’s caddie has been on her bag for around 2 weeks now and has already established himself as a valuable asset. Discussing his role in the win, she said, “He know the course very well. Like especially on the greens. He just know every part of the green.”
Yin did not stop there with her praise for her looper. She called him “amazing.” It can be rightly said that Yin’s caddie’s knowledge of the green came in really handy this week, and as a result of it, she won her career’s first major title.
The golfer’s caddie was also alongside her during this year’s Shoprite LPGA Classic, but things were a bit different then!

This week, Yin had her caddie by her side to guide her through the greens at Baltusrol. But Shoprite was the first event that the duo played together, and their bond was still building.
During her press conference, she revealed that during their first tournament together at Seaview Golf Club, the 2023 KPMG Women’s PGA Championship winner was reading her own greens. She was not relying blindly on her caddie. Things changed this week as his caddie informed her that he was good at reading the course, and the 20-year-old just went ahead with it and trusted him.
