Grief hits at the most unexpected of times. They say life moves on, but as we move along with life, we carry an unforgettable part of our loved ones in our hearts. Perhaps the same was true with the LPGA sensation and her family when they remembered Tim Wakefield, who was lost to brain cancer back in October last year, at the 2024 HGV Tournament of Champions.

Wakefield developed a love for golf in his retirement days. He was famous for his knack of attending celebrity and charity golf events and enjoying the holistic game. So it makes sense for Annika Sörenstam to remember her former golfing companion.

Through an Instagram post, Annika Sorenstam and her family conveyed their condolences to the MLB Hall of Famer. Annika Sörenstam said, “We must say we are missing Tim this year. We are thinking of Stacy and the family.”

While her 12-year-old son, Will McGee, said, “Miss you, Tim.”
