Justin Rose was offered the first pitch at the Major League Baseball game between Chicago Cubs and the Chicago White Sox. The 2018 FedEx Cup champion was given the honor to throw the ball while representing the Cubs at Wrigley Field. The golfer was seen having a good time while making use of the platform to connect the two sports as he became a part of the exciting longstanding tradition.

In a video uploaded to Twitter, the Englishman was accompanied by the team mascot for the Cubs taking on the role of his caddie. The looper led the professional as they made their way to the pitcher where he made the first throw of the game marking the start of the match. The caddie-golfer duo then took a picture with each other.

Donning a Cubs jersey, the 43-year-old was visibly eager to watch a replay of the pitch he made. And he was happy with what he saw. “It’s not making viral embarrassment,” remarked the professional excitedly after watching the video.

In an Instagram post shared by Rose, he is seen showing off the jersey that he received with his name and the number ’99’ on it. He made sure to let his followers know the honor he felt as he put up the caption, “Blue skies and a cross-town rivalry with White Sox! Couldn’t have been a more special evening enjoying America’s pastime!”
