LPGA Tour professionals are making appearances at MLB stadiums, albeit in a unique way. According to reports from the LPGA Tour, several notable names have been stepping onto the mound during recent MLB games to throw out ceremonial first pitches.

During the match between the Seattle Mariners and the Atlanta Braves, Stacy Lewis, the thirteen-time LPGA Tour winner, made an appearance at the stadium to throw the first pitch on May 1st to promote the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship. Following the appearance of the U.S. Solheim Cup captain, Rose Zhang and Michelle Wie West were also spotted at a recent MLB game.

The post was shared by the retired golfer on her Instagram account. She seemed to be delighted at the opportunity, as she wrote, “Got to check this one off my bucket list!! Thank you @delta for having us throw the first pitch at the @yankees stadium 🥰🥰 @mizuholpga @rosezhang”

During the Yankees game on Friday, Wie West and Zhang showcased their throwing skills to the New York fans. It also served as a reminder that the second edition of the Mizuho Americas Open will be held at Liberty National Golf Club from May 16 to 19. Rose Zhang’s presence as the defending champion added even more weight to the situation, especially considering her historic victory in her professional debut at the event last year.
