Earl Woods’ teachings left a mark on the golf world
MLB Legend, Sheffield, recently appeared at the ‘Par 3 Podcast.’ The official Instagram handle shared a snippet of their conversation with the avid golfer. He talked about his earliest golf memory in Tampa. Michael Jordan once suggested that the former baseball outfielder play golf. He was not on board with the plan, but he went on to play later on. And on his first time, he shot 80 at Carrollwood Country Club.

He further explained what helped his game and said, “I was always in under trees and in the woods, you know, always trying to come out of trouble. And then, for some reason, that helped my game.” The conversation took an interesting turn when he revealed the reason behind it. He said, “I listened to Tiger Woods, dad, and that’s how he taught Tiger. You always put him in trouble. Made him go into trees, woods, under trees, hit balls, and tough scenarios, and then eventually we know the story.”
We cannot deny the fact that he was a great teacher. Being under Sr. Woods’ mentorship is a blessing, and we can all see it coming true. Woods has achieved great heights in his life, and his father has played an important role. Earl’s sad demise in 2006 left a hole in the life of the great golfer. However, Earl has left behind the true testament of his hard work, and today fans cheer for him around the globe.

Tiger Woods had the greatest ‘teacher’ of all time
In 2020, Woods appeared on Tiger Tales on CBS. He shared his father’s teachings with everyone. The 82-time PGA Tour winner said, “I’ve had coaches throughout my career, but my dad was the best teacher I’ve ever had with putting and probably ever will.” He still uses his lessons to help his game. “Under pressure, under the gun, when I need to make putts on the back nine, I always revert back to my dad’s teachings,” said the 15 times major championship winner.
