John Daly has built a reputation for himself as a daring golfer on the course. Moreover, the bad boy of golf has also managed to follow a similar lifestyle despite his concerning health issues. Nevertheless, the five-time PGA Tour winner has been an inspiration to many with his remarkable story of determination.
The golfer took to Instagram a while back to share some moments he had with some friends while watching a movie about a former baseball player. And, in a not-so-surprise of sorts, he was seen sporting the same ‘daring’ approach on the social media handle as the senior pro uploaded the story.

The 57-year-old professional was diagnosed with bladder cancer in 2020. Although Daly is still battling the disease, his uphill journey has been nothing short of inspiring. The golfer has not shied away from drinks and cigars, even as he is recovering from the illness. Moreover, the recent story shared on his social media handle showcases him sporting a beer glass while catching a movie.
The post, which was uploaded on Instagram Stories, shows the professional with three of his friends standing in front of a theater. John shared the picture with the caption “Get out and See THE HILL… bring the family!” as he gave a massive shoutout to the movie, which portrays the life of Rickey Hill, a former baseball player who had a debilitating disability.
While it is unsure whether the picture was taken before or after the movie was played, one can be sure of the excitement that the golfer is feeling for the film. Moreover, it was uploaded with the song “Rub a Little Dirt On It” by Randy Houser, a country music star who also acted in the film The Hill (dir. Jeff Celentano).
One can’t help but be curious about the film, as the PGAT pro took to the internet to give his nod of approval regarding the same. Let us now take a quick peek at Hill and his biopic.

The Hill depicts the life of Rickey as he overcame many hurdles in his life to become a professional baseball player. The former player was diagnosed with a degenerative spine disorder at a young age and needed leg braces to walk. Even so, this did not stop him from playing the game, as he frequently took to the grounds to play with his brother and friends, leading him to remove his leg support at 9 years old.
His determination to play the sport led him to land a contract with the Montreal Expos in 1975 at the age of 19. But unfortunately, his career came to an end due to his disorder after four seasons in the minor leagues. Hill has since followed in his father’s footsteps as he spreads the Lord’s word and thanks him for the role that baseball played in his life.
