‘MJ Never Did That’: When Tiger Woods Revealed What Makes LeBron James Different

Tiger Woods is probably one of the best players the world of golf has ever seen. His skill and experience in the game of golf are unmatched. Tiger values his legacy and works hard to make a change. The pro golfer is a living inspiration to many. He is known for sticking to his morals. His experience of being an athlete makes him a perfect fit to ask for opinions about sports, in general.

As is well known, LeBron James and Michael Jordan are probably two of the biggest names when it comes to Basketball. The two are often said to have similar styles, however, Woods had something else to say. In an interview, a few years back, Tiger Woods made his stand on the issue clear.

He was once asked who he thinks was the G.O.A.T. of basketball. How he answered the question was what drew the attention of those around him. It was interesting to see Woods beautifully highlight the strengths and the differences between the two players.

Woods said, “LeBron is different. He’s like a hybrid of MJ and magic, which is so different. He’s bringing the ball up a lot. MJ never did that. He had Pip as a point forward a lot of times. You would think that that’s kind of LeBron-ish, but they’re very different in how they help both teams.”

LeBron James is a four-time NBA Champion. He is the first active NBA player to become a billionaire. He plays for the LA Lakers. The NBA Champion’s style has been very often compared to Michael Jordan’s. However, Tiger Woods did not agree. According to him, both the major basketballers have their own set of skills somewhat entirely different from one another. They both excel in the sport in their own unique way.

Tiger Woods strategically answered the question in a way that resonated with the people around him. The pro golfer called LeBron James a hybrid of MJ and magic. He appreciated his different style of playing the enigmatic sport of basketball. Woods did not shy away from calling LeBron’s game different.

Michael Jordan once spoke boldly about Woods

Following the 2009 incident, Woods cut ties with almost everyone, including Jordan. But the final nail in the coffin came when Jordan made an unfriendly statement about Woods’ future career in 2016. He said

, “This bothers him more than anything. It’s a ship he can’t right and he’s never going to. What can you do? The thing is about T-Dub, he cannot erase. That’s what he really wants. He wants to erase the things that happened.”

However, 

Woods proved all speculations wrong with his historical comeback in the 2019 Masters. MJ cheered him on and called this the greatest comeback he has ever seen. He was quick to acknowledge the efforts Woods made and congratulated him for the same. However, only time will tell the path their friendship will take, and whether the two will reignite the almost-lost bond into its former glory.
