The PGA Tour’s war against LIV Golf has not yet concluded even in light of the $3 billion merger. There are still subtle digs being taken against golfers playing 54 holes with a no-cut system.
Aside from fans who still haven’t forgiven the 48 players for leaving the American and European circuits, there are several PGA Tour golfers and members of the policy board who often make it clear that they don’t consider LIV golfers part of the community. A recent incident, however, invited divided reactions from the fans.

The all-time money list on the PGA Tour saw some very interesting changes this season. It only displays members who stayed loyal to the PGA Tour, while LIV Golfers, even those in very high ranks, were carefully removed, which instigated fans.
Although there is a strong divide between the Saudi tour and the American tour, the active removal of names from the All-time money list, which constitutes amounts earned while LIV players were on the PGA tour, did not sit well with fans. ‘No Laying Up’ shared the list on Twitter with Rory McIlroy‘s recent earnings from this season’s FedEx Playoff winnings. Tiger Woods, of course, tops the list but Phil Mickelson fell off the second rank, and so did Dustin Johnson. This did make room for other rising golf stars though.
The account also professed the post saying, “(Before the bat signal goes up, I do not know why the tour removed the LIV guys from their all time money list and do not support that).”
All time PGA Tour money list:
1. Tiger: $120.9M
2. Rory: $79.1M
3. Furyk: $71.5M
4. Vijay: $71.2M
5. Scott: $62.9M
6. Rose: $61.6M
7. Spieth: $59.9M
8. Kuchar: $57.7M
9. Day: $56.9M
10. JT: $54.1M
11. Rahm: $51.4M
12. Rory just in in FedExCup bonuses: $50.4M— No Laying Up (@NoLayingUp) August 24, 2023
Let’s take a look at what netizens are saying about the unfairness of the ‘All-time’ money list.
Twitter is stormed by golfing fans
While there are many fans who remain loyal to the PGA tour and are quite outspoken against LIV golfers, this particular move by the American circuit certainly raised many eyebrows. Most fans were outraged with Phil Mickelson’s omission from the ‘all-time’ list. After all, ‘Lefty’ is known for his extravagance.
One fan shared their sarcasm on point saying, “So the LIV guys all went to heaven?” While another golf fan blatantly questioned the list, “What About @PhilMickelson? He is second = Life Member of @PGATOUR Just under $100million.”

Some fans were very unamused by the bias and added their opinions with “Missing Mickelson, DJ….” Some even stated their distaste for the PGA Tour’s leadership.

The PGA is in dire need of new leadership.

Some fans pointed out the irony of the situation. They questioned the legitimacy of Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy being on the list so high up while LIV golfers didn’t even make it in. There were also those who saw the wisdom behind the players’ decision to switch over to the Saudi-PIF’s tournaments.
Hey Tiger, since you have to “earn it in the dirt” should you, Rory & everyone else have to give back the bonuses?

So in other words Rory is nowhere in the list without Fed ex money

Makes it pretty clear why guys went to LIV and honestly why you can’t blame them! DJ has made 50% more golfing in the last 2 years than Tiger did in his entire golf career. I’d imagine he was in that 50-60 range all time and now that number is probably around 210! Insane!

Regardless of the merger or the list, it seems the golf world is far from settling the issue between the breakaway tour and the PGA tour any time soon.
