September was pretty hectic for Lexi Thompson. The LPGA Tour star started with the Solheim Cup, practice for which began right after the FM Championship concluded. After playing for the winning team, she appeared at the Kroger Queen City Championship, followed by the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship. Her performance in both tournaments was not really up to the mark.
She dropped down the top-15 list on both of them. But what happened? Well, having played consecutively for three weeks, she ended up having a daunting injury on her wrist. Giving the update, she wrote, “Being my third week in a row, it’s been a bit rough on my hand again, so I’m happy to have these next 4-5 weeks off to get some rest, make sure I’m 100% to finish the year, and put in the work as usual 👊🏼.” But it looks like she finally has an update about her return.
Lexi Thompson’s fans can finally end their curiosity about when the American professional plans to tee off next after almost a month and a half. The 29-year-old golfer took to her official Instagram account a few hours ago and shared a video of herself practicing her swing at the Trump International Golf Club in Palm Beach. In the caption, she wrote, “Few more days of practice before heading out 👊🏼👏🏼.”

After all, this is the last full season that she will be playing on the Tour as she plans on retiring at the end of this year. So, naturally, fans want to see more of her. The community showed their excitement of finally being able to see her on the golfing greens after so long.

Lexi Thompson started playing on the LPGA Tour in 2012, two years after turning professional. Ever since the 29-year-old has been able to grab eleven victories on the Tour. She also bagged four top-10 finishes, which included a close T2 at the Meijer LPGA Classic in June. Taking to this, one of them wrote, “You’re the best ❤️”
Thompson announced her retirement on Instagram ahead of the first round of the 2024 US Women’s Open. She cited mental health struggles and a desire to find more balance in her life as reasons for her decision.
