Min Woo Lee’s style choice goes beyond Bubba Watson

A few days ago, the 2023 Fortinet Australian PGA Championship winner signed with Lululemon as his apparel sponsor. It was his first deal after turning pro. Recently, the 25-year-old sat down on Golf Digest’s podcast called The Loop and reflected on his style.

The host suggested that Lее’s style reminded him of Bubba Watson as he was seen wearing a Polo full-neck T-shirt. However, Lee subtly ignored the host’s hint and instead named two other notable golfers as his fashion role models: Tiger Woods and Adam Scott.

Lее said that he was influenced by Woods’s “swag” and his iconic long sleeves and mock neck shirts, which he wore during his dominant years in the early 2000s. Woods is one of the most stylish players in the world. The 3x European Tour winner shared how he initially rejected the idea of wearing the same style of shirt but changed his mind after receiving ‘cool’ feedback from his fans and peers.

While talking about his famous mock neck, he said, “I just started wearing it. And you know, that obviously became kind of my brand as well. So, you know, I think Tiger was probably the big part.”

His love for the 82x PGA Tour winner is not only limited to his style, but he also aspires to be like him on the course. After his Australia PGA Championship win, Lee made a bold claim: “For sure, I want to be Australia’s Tiger Woods.” It would be nice. Tiger plays great golf, and I would love to be the face of Australian golf. I feel like I can.” Apart from Tiger Woods, he also praised Adam Scott’s style, whom he sees as his inspiration.

Lее’s fashion is also inspired by his fеllow Australian golfer, who was described as a “good-looking guy” with a “pretty good style.” Lее said that he was honored to call Scott a friend and recalled an incident with him. The PGA Tour pro revealed watching him win the Masters in 2013 when he was playing in an Australian tournament. He woke up at 4 a.m. just to watch him play.

The two seem to share a good bond with each other. As recently revealed, during his US Open, Lee received a text from his friend before his Sunday tee time, and he offered him a ride on his lavish private jet. He shared the behind-the-scenes story, saying, “I told him I’m not in unless I top ten, so I said, ‘Save a spot for me if you can!’ It ended up working out. His plane’s pretty nice, and it was a really cool experience.”
