Tiger Woods’ contribution to golf is unfathomable. Not just professional golf, but he has introduced this game and made it popular among recreational golfers worldwide. The 46-year-old golfer has won 82 PGA Tour titles and 15 major championships in his career so far. However, the popularity that golf gained as a sport after his debut is astounding.

Tiger is the hero of every golfer on the PGA or any other tour. The millions of dollars these players receive today are because of just one man: Tiger Woods. Moreover, Tiger’s popularity has even been lauded by the former American professional boxer, Mike Tyson. He once revealed how Woods inspired one of his sons to take up golf.

The legendary American boxer Mike Tyson was hosting his ‘Hotboxin with Mike Tyson’ podcast. Tyson had the hip-hop artist Jayceon Terrell Taylor, AKA The Game, as a guest. They were discussing their respective children when Mike told him what his kids were doing.

“My kids all graduated, most of them. Four of them graduated from college, NYU, American Drexler, and Georgetown. And in my three young ones, I have one in USC. He’s 19,” Tyson said. Additionally, he spoke about his younger son, who is passionate about golf.

“I have a son. I don’t know why he likes golf,” revealed Mike. He even mentioned how Tiger Woods influenced his son to take up this sport. “He saw a picture of Tiger Woods walking to a hole. And that people walking behind, he said, wow. That’s cool. All the people following you like that. And that’s why you got things. He wants to play golf,” concluded Tyson.

Meanwhile, this is one example of how Woods has influenced youngsters to take up this sport. And plenty of such youngsters have taken an interest in golf after watching the 15-time major championship winner play. Moreover, Mike revealed that he used to hate this sport until he tried it himself.

Therefore, even though Woods has lost his rhythm and skills with age and injuries, fans regard him with the same respect. Hence, being three majors short of the great Jack Nicklaus, haven’t let the love of his fans falter in any way and they still consider him to be the most legendary golfer of all time.
