One of the oldest PGA Tour events, the RBC Canadian Open, just concluded on June 11 at Oakdale. The event had many turns and twists to keep fans hooked. Players such as Rory McIlroy and Tyrrell Hatton were competing for the highly reputed title, but it was Nick Taylor who walked away with the major chunk of $9 million. Many golfers have expressed their take on various aspects of the game when they make an appearance in any podcast, and the most recent golfer to do so is none other than Tyrrell Hatton.
After the tournament was over, Hatton made an appearance on the podcast Foreplay and discussed something important about the tournament.
Tyrrell Hatton shares his take on tournament golf

Hatton had quite a time at Oakdale this past weekend. He had 10 birdies on the final day of the tournament and tied for 3rd place alongside CT Pan and Aaron Rai and won $477,000. After his stellar performance in Toronto, the golfer made an appearance on the foreplay. The host of the podcast had one direct and easy question for him. He asked England’s own if he enjoyed playing tournament golf because sometimes it just seems brutal and torturous. To which the angry golfer had quite an interesting reply.

He answered the question in both an affirmative and a pessimistic manner. He said that tournament golf could both be fun and not fun; it totally depends on the golfer’s performance. He continued and said, “Yes and no, although it might not look like fun to me.” He then went ahead and said that playing in any event or tournament is only fun when a golfer has a chance of competing on Sunday and then eventually winning.

The golfer did not end his take on tournament golf here. He shared how sometimes not being able to make it to the event can take a toll on the golfer.
The Englishman shares golfers’ plight
While speaking about tournament golf and how brutal it can be sometimes, the golfer shared how big of a deal it can be for the golfers to miss the cut.
The 31-year-old English golfer then said that it is extremely hard for golfers to process that they have missed the cut at the reputed events. He also shared how troublesome it is for the players who stay at the bottom of the leaderboard even after they are able to make the cut.

He also shared his personal experience and said that this year has been better than his past 1.5–2 years on the course. He ultimately said that the primary goal of every golfer is to win as much as possible.
