Financial aspects play a significant role in the sports industry. This was evident in yesterday’s press conference at the LIV Golf Team Championship, where Dustin Johnson made some humorous statements. Money was one of the biggest reasons, other than the PGA Tour’s hectic schedule, why golfers left the PGA Tour to join LIV golf. And in today’s play, $34 million is on the line, which is a considerable amount.

In yesterday’s conference, Johnson pointed out the financial aspect of playing the game. He said something no one expected. The two major championship winners provided their honest opinion while talking about the financial facet, wrapped with humor. Everyone had a big laugh; however, according to him, what he said was the undeniable truth.

He said, “I think if we all had to pony up out of our pockets, it might — it might make some bu** h*les tighten up a little bit.”
Johnson, however, still mentioned that the competition was fierce and everyone was looking forward to clinching the first LIV Golf championship.
He added, “for us, it’s all about the competition. We want to win the first championship of LIV Golf, and yeah, I mean, it’s all about — tomorrow, it’s anybody’s ballgame.”
The feeling was different for him, as all the teams played for money that did not belong to them. It was not from their own pockets. However, if that were the case, there would also be frowns across the room and possibly across the golf course.
