In the month of August this year, the US State of Hawaii was grappling with horrific wildfires. These wildfires caused massive losses on all fronts, ecological as well as economic. Many donation drives were started by various institutions and entities, including one by the LPGA’s very own Michelle Wie West.

In an attempt to help out in times of turbulence, the LPGA veteran gave it her best shot through not efforts on the course but off them. She came up with a jewelry design, through which she contributed to the wildfire relief funds. And the whopping five-figure sum collected thanks to it is certainly cause for celebration!

West collaborated with Wove Made to come up with a beautiful bracelet design, the proceeds from which will all go towards charity at the Hawaii Community Foundation.

This proved to be a successful strategy, and it ended up raising $53,000 for the intended cause. The one-time major winner revealed this news recently when she posted the number on her Instagram story, thanking all her fans and followers for their unwavering support.

While starting the drive, she shared, “I hope this bracelet becomes a symbol and reminder for you to Ho’omau as well.” It’s safe to say now that the bracelet indeed did become a beacon of hope for many.

Moving forward, all proceeds will go to the donation drive. The successful movement certainly wouldn’t have been possible without the support of West’s family and friends, as well as big assistance from the LPGA.
