The Memorial Tournament will conclude in just a few hours. Unlike many signature events, the Memorial had a cut, after which only the top 50 and ties remained at the Muirfield Village Golf Club. Out of all the top players, only one will take home the prestigious glassware from the Jack Nicklaus-hosted event and the lucrative payout.

Similar to the previous signature PGA Tour event, the Memorial Tournament also has a $20 million purse for the limited field. Given the 20% to the winner, he will take home $4 million from Ohio. Additionally, the winner will also bag 700 FedExCup points and 68.94916 Official World Golf Ranking points.

Comparatively, the PGA Tour’s payout for the Memorial winner is more than the ShopRite LPGA Classic of the LPGA Tour, where the winner will get only $262,500. On the other hand, the PGA Tour’s rival league, LIV Golf, will have an identical winner’s payout after the conclusion of LIV Golf Houston.

The FedExCup and OWGR points will help any golfer improve their overall rank on the PGA Tour and worldwide. But that’s not all! The winner of the Memorial Tournament will receive a prize that might be bigger than the lucrative sum.

What is at stake at the Memorial Tournament?

The Memorial Tournament offers PGA Tour pros who are not already exempt an opportunity to qualify for the 2024 U.S. Open. The winner, if not already exempt, will qualify for Pinehurst next week. Additionally, he will also be a fixture at the last signature event, the Travelers Championship.
