Does Megan Khang's gear give her an edge, or is it all about skill and strategy?

Megan Khang has been associated with clubs and bombs ever since she was a kid! The American professional golfer got into competitive golf at the age of five. It didn’t even take her ten years to qualify for her first major—the 2012 Women’s Open at the age of 14. She has been playing on the LPGA Tour since 2016, but so far, she has only been able to secure one victory.

This season started with an 11th-place finish for Khang at the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament, but she quickly jumped to a third-place finish at the LPGA Drive On Championship. She has five missed cuts and two top-10 finishes so far. But it looks like now, she might be close to grabbing her second win after the 2023 CPKC Women’s Open. But what is helping her gear up her game in Scotland?

The 26-year-old LPGA pro has an average driving accuracy of 82.25%, placing her sixth on the list. Her accuracy comes from the PXG 0311 Gen6 driver, which has 35% tighter dispersion and covers up to 9.9 yards, giving her the best long-range shots on the field. Although it is priced at $499 on the official website, it is currently available for $449. It is equipped with the Mitsubishi Chemical Diamana PD 5th Generation shaft, with a loft angle of 9 degrees.

For the fairway, Khang uses the 2-wood PXG 0341 X Proto with a loft angle of 15 degrees. She hits bombs with absolute precision by equipping it with the Mitsubishi Chemical Diamana TB. They are priced between $159 and $349.
