Last week, the LPGA held its season semi-final of The ANNIKA driven by Gainbridge at Pelican event, where Lilia Vu glided her way to victory. With her fourth win of the season, Vu enters the finale this week as one of the strongest players. This week, the LPGA is hosting its season-ending final tournament, the CME Tour Group Championship 2023.
One of the most anticipated events after the Majors, the CME event has a whopping prize of $7 million, which got elevated in 2021. Days before the event, big prize aspirant Megan Khang got involved with an LPGA Pro in a risky bet.

The CME Group Tour Championship has a limited field of Top 60 players. It has so much to offer. The minimum pay for any of the 60 golfers is $40,000 and the winner takes home the first prize share of $2 million.
The tournament will be played from November 16-19 at the Tiburón Golf Club at The Ritz-Carlton Naples. The players have already reached the venue and are spending the weekdays busy in practice.
But today the practice session was briefly interrupted by a heavy downpour on the grounds. As the players resigned from playing during the rain, Alison Lee and Megan Khang enjoyed a fun game that ended up making Khang rich by 50 bucks! Lee challenged Khang to stand in the heavy rain for half a minute in return for $50 and Megan did it.
Alison shared the clip of Khang standing on the course in heavy rain in her Instagram stories. Lee wrote, “Told Megan Khang, I’d give her 50 dollars to stand in the pouring rain for 30 seconds.” Then Khang reposted the story on her handle and wrote, “Easiest $50 I ever made.” Clearly the girls are having some fun before the big game!

Besides Alison Lee and Megan Khang, other players who will star on the field this week are France’s Celine Boutier, and former World No.1, Jin Young Ko. Sadly, last year’s defending champion Lydia Ko couldn’t qualify, as she went out of the Top 100 CME ranks. It will be the first for her. Nevertheless, the field will be studded with golfers vying for the ultimate prize.
