The English professional was born to Jeff Hatton and Karen Hatton on the 14th of October, 1991. His rise through the world golf rankings is heavily credited to his mentor and the oldest pillar of support, his father. The golfer’s dad always encouraged him to play the sport which led to his passion being ignited at a young age.

The inspiration and motivation that Jeff provided his son with resulted in the young prodigy picking up his first club at the age of five. As the young golfer’s skills developed over time, his dad became his coach providing him with advice, and support, along with a touch of expert guidance in a bid to help Hatton reach his full potential.

He wasn’t just a father to the professional but also a true mentor and counselor, providing his son with knowledge regarding the technical and mental aspects of golf. Although he has had a vital role in the life of one of the top rankers of the sport, little is known about Hatton’s father’s life as he prefers to keep a low profile amidst the fame that the English professional has garnered.

His mother Karen’s role is equally important in the journey of Hatton. She was spotted holding the trophy with her son after his victory at the 2017 Alfred Dunhill Links Championship. She is not the only woman in his life. This other woman is the love of his life whom he married in 2021.

Hatton and his wife, Emily Braisher

Emily Braisher completed her graduation from Nottingham Trent University in Fashion Communication and Promotion. The couple used to spend a lot of time on and off the course together, which led her to write a blog, named Wife On Tour, where she used to narrate her experience as the golfer’s partner in his tournaments.

Although the 31-year-old is seen as a hot-headed person on the course, he is nothing short of a doting boyfriend to his girlfriend. They have spent a lot of quality time with each other despite the tight schedule that the golfer boasts. Braisher has also caddied for the Ryder Cup star at the par-3 contest in the 2019 Masters which earned her the title of the ‘prettiest caddie he ever had’ by Hatton.

The duo got engaged in 2019 when he proposed to Emily under the Christmas tree. Following this, the adorable couple took their wedding vows in May 2021 at Blue Ridge Parkway, Asheville, North Carolina. Hatton found himself a good partner off the course. But doesn’t this make one curious as to who became his looper on the greens? Well, let’s jump right in!

Tyrrell Hatton and his caddie, Michael Donaghy

Michael, or ‘Mick’, Donaghy, has been on the sport as a caddie for around three decades and has worked with golfers such as Jamie Donaldson and Marcus Fraser before turning his attention to the Englishman. The pair got together in 2019 and has tasted considerable success, including a win at the 2020 BMW PGA Championship.

The Scot has managed to help Hatton with his mental game. The golfer has dubbed the looper as ‘someone who makes him laugh’. The duo had to take a temporary break owing to a knee injury to the Scot in 2023, bringing in Shane Lowry’s former caddie Brian ‘Bo’ Martin onto the Englishman’s bags temporarily. Fortunately, the two were reunited at the Genesis Scottish Open after which they have gone from strength to strength.
