Chad Reynolds’s career and partnerships

The Florida-based Chad Reynolds is an experienced caddie with over 2 decades of experience. The lopper has been a professional caddie since 2000. Even though he has not played college golf, but has managed to reduce his handicap down to 5. His experience with some illustrious names has been a career turning point for him.

He has worked with Vijay Singh, Keegan Bradley, Cameron Champ, Nick Watney, Cameron Young, Tom Pernice Jr., Paul Tesori, and Dinesh Chand. Even with some of the prominent names in the course, he still recalls the best moment of his career from the 2008 FedEx Cup. Sharing his career highlights with the Caddie Network, the looper said helping Singh lift the cup was the best moment. He shared, “VJ bunker shot [on] 13 [at] Augusta, back left pin. Even the guys we were playing clapped!” Well, not just a memorable one for him, but for the entire golf world.

Reynolds’s historic influence in the 2021 3M Open

The caddie, before joining hands with Patrick Rodgers, was teamed up with Cameron Champ in 2021. The duo started with the Sentry, where Champ finished at T31. The following seemed to have an on-and-off performance by the golfer until the John Deere Classic, where he recorded a T11 finish.

Next was the 3M Open, which had an interesting story from the caddie to share about switching golf balls before the final round to claim the victory. On Saturday, 17th hole, Reynolds’s experience hooked him with a decision to change the ball for which he convinced Champ. He said, “That’s it for me. I’m done. We cannot play this golf ball anymore.”

On Sunday, while testing 2 different balls, the golfer and caddie were discussing the choice for the final round. He shared, “I said ‘Cameron, I’ve already told you what I think. You cannot play that other golf ball…’ He’s chipping it with it right before you go to the tee, and this is kind of Cam, he goes ‘OK, I’ll play it.” To witness a sudden change in the last round is very unusual, as it was for the golfer, too. But with the great experience, Reynolds has sensed it and offered him a wise suggestion.

Will the Rodgers-Reynolds duo turn those close finishes into a long-awaited victory this season?
