Norweigan American Golfer Erik Compton, has been a person of interest in the media ever since he was introduced to the royal sport. The golfer from Florida may not be active on the American Tour but he is still a revered player. The former Order of Merit title holder is very well-known in the community for his athleticism despite having two heart transplants one of which took place when he was merely 12 years old. That is also when he started playing golf. His second transplant in 2008 was followed by him being awarded the Ben Hogan Award at the prestigious 2009 Masters Tournament at the Augusta National.

The former 2x All American golfer was married to Barbara Casco back in 2008. They have a daughter together named Petra Compton. The Argentinian beauty was a constant support in the life of the pro golfer. She came out to watch him play while on crutches when he made the cut at Augusta in 2015. Sadly, the couple called it quits shortly after. Their divorce was finalized in 2017. The exact date of his split from his ex-wife is unknown. However, they appear to be on good terms as they share momentous occasions of their daughter’s life together.

Following the fallout with Casco, Compton started dating Yessinia Gonzalez.  She had a daughter named Janessa Laboy who Compton appears to be very fond of. He introduced his stepdaughter to his fans on social media on many occasions alongside Petra Compton. He even shared an exclusive Halloween memory of them having a wonderful time with Gonzalez.

The little family of Gonzalez and Compton seems to be getting along fabulously, sharing laughs and private jokes. The couple has two kids in total from before they tied the knot in the Biltmore Hotel in 2017.

Following in the path of her daddy, the youngest of the Compton clan has turned to golf as her career. On her 14th birthday, Erik Compton shared a heartwarming message on his Instagram saying, “She was 1.5 years and was walking the fairways with me at the 2010 men’s US open. Some great memories. Today she is a 4 handicap, 14 years old. And one day to play in her own Open.” he shared a baby picture of his adorable daughter bare feet on the greens next to his Titleist bag.

The father-and-daughter duo also shared a few rounds alongside DJ Khaled in June.

Not only is Petra Compton’s swing an incredible feat, but her name is entered in the Rolex rankings. She entered several junior tournaments in 2023 and won the Prep Tour Sandridge. She also secured 5th place in two of the events, namely the Medalist Tour and the Prep Tour Crandon.

What does Erik Compton’s stepdaughter Janessa Laboy do?

Compton’s stepdaughter Janessa is a powerful force like her mother. The young girl has several talents and loves to explore her potential. Primarily, she has expressed interest in music production and often introduces new numbers on her Spotify account. She works with a technical team but also sings like an angel and plays the cello.

The pro golfer shared his ‘proud daddy’ moment when his stepdaughter graduated from high school and was accepted into the University of Miami’s Music program.

Although they don’t particularly share an interest in golf, Janessa has shown interest in other sports, including skateboarding. Her immense talents in music are also extremely commendable.

Erik Compton never fails to surprise his admirers with little moments from his family time. Lunches, outings, and sometimes even time with the grandparents make their happy family one of the most desired.
