Who would have thought that a toddler playing with a toy club would grow up to be one of golf’s rising stars? We are talking about 26-year-old Daniel Hiller, who’s been making waves in golf ever since he turned pro in 2019. Hillier was always into sports, but it was around age 13 that he decided golf would be his ultimate thing.

His amateur career was nothing short of impressive. He won the New Zealand Junior U19 Championships in 2015 and 2016 and took home the Australian Junior Championship in 2017. Not to mention he was the leading amateur at the New Zealand Open twice, in 2016 and 2018, and co-medaled at the 2018 U.S. Amateur with Cole Hammer.

At just 17, he grabbed his first big win at the 2015 John Jones Steel Harewood Open, beating Jim Cusdin by a stroke with a strong finish—three birdies in the last five holes. After that, Hillier was on the radar, qualifying for the U.S. Open in 2019, and by the end of that year, he turned pro. Of course, the pandemic threw a bit of a wrench in things, but Hillier still managed to make his mark. He qualified for the PGA Tour of Australasia but ended up playing most of his golf on the Charles Tour.

It was in 2021, when he leaped the Challenge Tour, securing his first win at the Challenge Costa Brava. And that’s when it really paid off big time, as it earned him a full card for the next season. In 2022, Hillier made his DP World Tour debut, but it was the Challenge Tour that gave him his biggest moments, including another win at the Swiss Challenge. That helped him earn a higher DP World Tour status for 2023. And in 2023, he won his first DP World Tour title at the Betfred British Masters.

And, of course, all these big wins wouldn’t be as sweet without someone to share them with. For Hillier, that someone is his partner, Siobhan Cecily, who’s been by his side through it all.

Back in January 2024, Hillier posted a photo alongside his longtime girlfriend, Sibohan, and wait, did we spot a ring? Yes, it turns out Siobhan isn’t just his girlfriend; she’s now his fiancée! The post was captioned, “Wait, are you sure?” – Siobhan, 30.01.24 💍”, and then it was followed by a series of pictures that could leave everyone in awe.

Though Siobhan is not that active on social media, she’s definitely a regular on Hillier’s feed. She graduated in 2020, and though she isn’t a golfer for sure, she does caddy for Hillier. Whether they’re enjoying a holiday or simply going out shopping, Siobhan is Hillier’s constant partner in crime.

And as for Hillier, if he’s not on the golf course, you might just find him up in the air, doing some paragliding. The golfer is all about adventures. He also plays guitar! So when he’s not traveling or swinging clubs, you might catch him strumming a few tunes.
