Brandon Robinson-Thompson is one of those fortunate ones, who has managed to carve a niche for himself in the golfing world. Born on August 25, 1992, in the picturesque Totland Bay on the Isle of Wight, this English professional golfer has come a long way. Standing at 5 ft 9 in (176 cm) tall, Robinson-Thompson may not be the tallest guy on the course, but he’s certainly made a name for himself with his impressive skills and dedication to the sport.

Professional career and milestones

Brandon Robinson-Thompson’s journey to becoming a professional golfer is a fascinating one. He attended Morningside College and the University of South Carolina Aiken, where he was a men’s golf team member. In 2023, he achieved significant success, winning the Northern Ireland Open and the Irish Challenge. These victories showcased his growth and talent as a professional golfer, and they demonstrated his ability to perform under pressure. Robinson-Thompson’s success on the tour circuit also earned him a spot at the 2023 Open Championship, where he finished 59th overall. Additionally, he qualified for The Open in 2023, a testament to his skill and perseverance.

Robinson-Thompson’s achievements extend far beyond his tour wins and major appearances. He secured victories in Egypt on the MENA Tour and notched two wins on the Clutch Pro Tour in 2023. These accomplishments demonstrate his dedication to his craft and his ability to adapt to different courses and conditions. Currently, the English professional is positioned at T2 in the Bahrain Championship.

Born to loving parents, Dave and Louisa Thompson, Brandon Robinson-Thompson has always had a strong support system in place. Growing up as the eldest of five siblings, with a younger brother and three younger sisters, he learned the value of family and the importance of having loved ones in his corner. As he grew older, Robinson-Thompson found another source of love and support in his wife-to-be, Kyah Owusu. What else does one need other than a loving partner to feel complete and supported?

For Robinson-Thompson, having Kyah by his side has been a game-changer. As he prepared for his second Major appearance at the U.S. Open at Pinehurst No. 2, Robinson-Thompson felt right at home, thanks in large part to Kyah’s unwavering support. With his extensive experience playing on sand-based, pine tree courses, Robinson-Thompson was confident that he would be more comfortable than many of his fellow European pros. “I had played a lot of golf in the Carolinas, so it was nothing I wouldn’t have seen before visually,” he said. Kyah’s support has been a constant source of encouragement for Robinson-Thompson, and he frequently expresses his gratitude for her presence in his life.

Although his Instagram account is strictly professional, Kyah frequently appears on his feed, including a post after they got engaged, captioned “Life’s better on your team💛💜 Happy Birthday Fiancée😌”. As they prepare to tie the knot on August 12, 2025, at Freshwater Isle of Wight, Robinson-Thompson knows that he can count on Kyah to be his rock, cheering him on every step of the way. With the love and support of both his family and Kyah, Robinson-Thompson feels like he can take on the world, and he’s excited to see what the future holds for him.
