That Adam Schenk would be a golfer now seems fated. Born January 26, 1992, in Vincennes, Indianapolis, the PGA Tour pro had a driving range at home. Like most, his introduction to golf was through his parents. After graduating from South Knox, Schenk joined Purdue University. His career took a flight from there. To trace his journey back, we need to first stop at the sod farm where Schenk grew up.

Adam Schenk’s unusual ties with golf

Schenk already had ties with golf, but not the way you would imagine. The 32-year-old grew up on a sod and grain farm. Not much is known about her mother, Renee. But his father, Scott, used to produce corn, beans, and wheat on the 1500-acre farm. Along with that, the Schenks also used to grow three types of grasses: fescue, zoysia, and bluegrass. The Schenk family used to sell them to local golf courses.

Asked about farm life at the 2022 Farmers Insurance Open, Schenk summed up the life as thus: ‘a lot of mowing.’ But that was, of course, tongue-in-cheek; they also loved playing golf. In an interview with BroBible, the 32-year-old said his granddad and father both used to tee off on local courses whenever they got time. Schenk tagged along. Funnily, he had his own driving range, which was basically a seven-acre plot of land with zoysia grass in front of their house. Schenk said, “[T]hey cut me down a sand wedge, and I would just go whack balls around there. I had all the room in the world.

The PGA Tour pro wasn’t the only child—he also has an elder sister, Karen. When Adam Schenk got his first PGA Tour card, she posted on Instagram, “So proud! Lil bro is headed to the PGA tour!!” Karen is married to Zach and has two daughters.

During the Masters, Karen’s daughters also posed in caddie bibs with Uncle Adam. The entire family wore green hoodies to celebrate Adam Schenk’s first Masters invite. A T12 was good enough to punch the ticket for the next one in 2025. In the Masters, also present was Schenk’s wife and baby boy.

Schenk’s wife is also associated with the PGA Tour

Adam Schenk is married to Kourtney, who also attended South Knox High School. Like her husband, Kourtney was an athlete, dipping her toes in basketball and track and field at South Knox. Then she moved to Indiana University Bloomington, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology and sports communications.

It’s not clear when the couple started dating. But Adam Schenk popped the question on October 9, 2018. “She said yes!! I’m excited and very grateful to be able to spend the rest of my life with you!” captioned the Purdue University alum with a picture on his Instagram handle. They tied the knot a year later, on December 8, 2019.

Kourtney had stints at various organizations such as Groupon and Scripps Network and then at LinkedIn as the media campaign manager. Notably, she has been a Tesori Family Foundation board member since 2021. It’s run by PGA Tour caddie Paul Tesori, who currently loops for Tom Kim.

Currently, she serves as the vice president of membership at the PGA Tour Wives Association, with which she has been associated since 2017, the year Schenk joined the Tour. Before that, Kourtney also served at the Web.com Tour (now Korn Ferry Tour) Wives Association as the Media Relations and Correspondence Chair.

The Schenks are a cheerful lot. They often throw ‘shades’ at each other on social media. In late 2022, the couple announced that they were expecting a baby. Now they are a family of three.

Adam Schenk’s son is a social media star

Kourtney was actually following her husband at the 2023 Valspar Championship despite being eight months pregnant. Adam Schenk was at the top of the leaderboard after the third round, a shot ahead of Jordan Spieth. Their wives were walking together.

I’m feeling good. So I decided I would come out and walk 18,” she told the media persons later. Kourtney didn’t just walk 18 holes; she actually had to wake up at 2 AM to make it to the Innisbrook resort. Schenk eventually had to settle for a runner-up finish, missing a playoff by a single stroke. A month later, the couple welcomed AJ, their baby boy.

AJ was with Dad Schenk at the Masters last year. “We were terrible caddies, but we had the best day ever with Dada,” Kourtney later posted on X ‘on behalf of’ AJ. The couple frequently posts pictures of AJ on their social media handles. The entire family was following Schenk at the US Open and the John Deere Classic last year.

Notably, the Schenk family also has a golden retriever, named Bunker. Schenk is also a close friend of fellow pro and former Boilermaker, Tyler Duncan. They earned their tour card in the same year. Aside from golf, Adam Schenk is also interested in ping pong and basketball.
