All has not been too well between Tiger Woods and Greg Norman, in recent times. Their relationship has undergone shifts throughout the year. However, what they have for one another at the moment sways far away from the definition of “friendly”. Norman once reasoned out why Tiger dislikes him.
The PGA Tour vs LIV Golf animosity has been the highlight of the world of golf in the last few months. Tiger Woods and Greg Norman have clearly picked their respective sides on the battlefield. However, Tiger Woods’s recent statement about Norman’s “essential” exit paved way for us to explore where all actually went wrong between this duo.

The connection between Greg Norman and Woods’s past and present
Norman and Woods are possibly not in their best place currently. This could be accounted to multiple possible reasons. However, a great Woods-Norman story might as well be a plausible explanation to their current viewpoints.
Following upheavals in Tiger’s personal life, Greg made a public assumption of his possible future. This was back in 2015. He said, “He will win again. But a major? I don’t see it.”
However, in 2019, Woods proved all previously held assumptions about his future wrong, including Norman’s. The pro golfer made one of the greatest comebacks the world of golf has ever seen and silenced all critiques.
In an attempt to make amends, Norman wrote Woods a handwritten note and made an attempt to drive a long way to deliver it in person. However, the result of this “sweet” gesture did not turn out to be the same way as many would expect it to, at least for Norman.
According to the Shark, “When Tiger won the Masters this year, I wrote him a handwritten note and hand-delivered it to his guard at his gate. Well, I never heard a word back from the guy. I don’t know – maybe Tiger just dislikes me. I have no idea.”
This might be possibly why Tiger Woods recently made the statement about Norman’s departure from the pro golfing league. However, these remain to be speculations and nothing is certain as to why Tiger chose to give the statement. Was it out of pure loyalty towards the Tour or was it something else that shaped his opinion?
Tiger Woods says Greg Norman needs to go
In a recent press conference, Tiger talked about why Greg Norman has to leave in order for the peace talks between the rival leagues to ideally begin.
Tiger said, “Greg’s gotta leave.”

This is not the first time a PGA Tour professional hinted at Greg’s exit so a peace pact can come into action. Rory McIlroy’s statement hinting the same went viral some time back.
All in all, it is a matter of time and destiny to see whether the two tours reach an agreement or not. And if Greg Norman’s “wanted” exit will take place or not. As of now, The Great White Shark is there to stay.
