As the GOAT of golf, many people love Tiger for his exceptional talent in the sport. But, the journey towards being the greatest was not a smooth ride. Tiger had to face many controversies along the way.
One of the famous controversies that he got into was when the confident Tiger met the reporter, Curtis Strange. The incident happened in 1996, and people remember this news till now because of the straightforwardness of Woods.
In the Interview, Curtis asked Tiger what his goal for his first pro event was. The confident young Tiger replied that he would like to win the tournament. Tiger further added that he used to say to his father that “second sucks and third is even worse.” Since Tiger was just starting his career and seemed overconfident to Curtis, he didn’t like the answer Tiger gave him. So, Curtis said, “You will learn.”
