Max Homa’s gear piqued the golf fans’ interest after his Ryder Cup heroics. Although the USA failed to win an away cup—for the umpteenth time in the last 30 years—Max Homa was one of the brightest spots in an otherwise subpar US squad. The six-time PGA Tour winner’s sharp sense of humor has also earned him a special place in fans’ hearts.
After a month-long hiatus post-Ryder Cup, the PGA Tour Pro is jointly tied for the top spot on the Nedbank Golf Challenge leaderboard. At Gary Player Golf and Country Club, Homa is jockeying to retain the top spot with Nicolai Hojgaard, Dan Bradbury, and Vincent Norrman. Let’s check out the gear that’s helping in his title bid.

As per Today’s Golfer, being a Titleist staff player, Homa uses an all-titleist kit. His first choice is a Titleist TSR3 driver, worth $599, with a Mitsubishi Tensei 1K Black 65 TX shaft. The shaft costs $450.
Homa, although not the best of the drivers on the PGA Tour, doesn’t perform too badly compared to others. His average driving distance of 304.8m puts him in the 15th position.
Fof his Fairway Woods, the six-time PGA Tour winner, has the Titleist TSR 2+ with the Fujikura Ventus TR Red 8 X shaft in his arsenal. Aside from the 3-wood, the American Pro also carries a 5-wood Titleist TSR2 (21 degrees) worth $599 with a Fujikura shaft. However, this time he uses a red 9x shaft instead of the 8x one.
The 32-year-old golfer carries three irons in the bag: a Titleist T200, a Titleist T100S, and a Titleist 620. Titleist T200 comes at a market price of $199.99, T100S is $221.50, and 620 is valued at $175. Along with the three irons, he carries two shafts: the KBS Tour Hybrid 105 X and the KBS S Taper 130.

For difficult wedge shots, Homa puts his faith in the Titleist Vokey Design SM9, worth $199. In addition to that, KBS S Taper 130g (P), KBS HI-REV 2.0 135 X (G, S), and KBS HI-REV 2.0 125 X (L) shafts deck his bag.
For stellar putts, like the 16-foot birdie putt that he cupped yesterday to climb to the top sport at the Nedbank Golf Challenge leaderboard, Homa picks Scotty Cameron T-5.5 Pro with a Golf Pride Tour velvet cord. A putting average of 1.69 puts Homa in third place on the PGA Tour.
