Can Max Greyserman finally break through and claim his first PGA Tour win in Japan?

Max Greyserman might finally be one step closer to his dream. The 29-year-old golfer turned professional in 2017 and has not grabbed a victory on the PGA Tour so far. However, with the ongoing 2024 ZOZO Championship in Japan, he seems to be just at the right pace.

He opened the round with two consecutive birdies. He scored a total of seven birdies and one bogey on the fourth hole to card a 6-under tying for the second position with Nico Echavarria. But what gear is he using to pace up his gameplay?

The American PGA Tour Pro uses all Callaway clubs except for one of them. For the driver, he opts for the Callaway Paradym Ai Smoke Triple Diamond Max (9 degrees), pairing it with the Fujikura Ventus TR Black 6 X shaft. He has a total driving distance of 312.2 field average, ranking him 18th on the list. This has been possible due to its shot shape adjustability, which gives maximum distance and forgiveness.

It is currently priced at $599 on the official website. He also has a mini driver, which is the Callaway Paradym Ai Smoke Ti 340 (13.5 degrees) equipped with the Fujikura Ventus Blue 8 X shaft. For the irons, the 29-year-old has three varieties: Callaway Apex UT (2), Callaway Apex Pro (4), and Callaway Apex TCB (5-PW). He uses all of them with the True Temper Dynamic Gold Tour Issue X100 shaft. The first one is priced at $275 and is designed to give a powerful yet versatile option off the tee when precision is of utter importance.

The second ones are the Apex Pro Irons. They have an all-new progressive face that gives unimaginable distance while swinging with precision as professional as the Tour level. These are priced at $215 onwards. The last range of his irons is 24 irons. Even the former World No. 2 Xander Schauffele has been able to rank his name in the top 5 in the world in strokes gained on the field with these. They have the same price as the Utility Pro irons.

For his wedges, and putter as well, he relies on the same brand.

For the wedges, Max Greyserman uses the Callaway Jaws Raw (50). These are priced at $199.99 and bring out the raw scoring performance for the player’s wedge game. They are known to give out some of the most aggressive grooves. He equips it with the True Temper Dynamic Gold Tour Issue S400 shaft. The odd one out in his bag is the putter. Greyserman uses the Odyssey Triple Track Jailbird equipped with the SuperStroke Zenergy Tour 1.0P 17 shaft.

Greyserman has a putting field average of 0.625, which ranks him 5th on the PGA Tour list of best putters. He has been able to achieve this goal because of the stability of his putter. These are priced at $299.99. He completes his kit with the Golf Pride ZGrip Cord grip and the Callaway Chrome Soft X (Triple Track) golf ball.
