Is Maverick McNealy's new gear the secret to his 2024 success, or is it pure talent?

Maverick McNealy has finally been outshining this season. Playing for over five years on the PGA Tour, he has failed to acquire even a single win so far. However, the 2024 season has been the best for him so far. He appeared in twenty-seven events and made the most cuts, among all the other years.

The 29-year-old only missed six cuts. Additionally, he has landed himself in the top 10 five times, which includes his T3 finish at the 3M Open. Also, he has earned a total of $3,340,358 so far in 2024. But the question is, what tools helped him change his game?

According to GolfWRX, the American professional has a total driving field average of 167 and a total driving distance of 302.8. To add to the list, his driving accuracy is about 60.83%, which ranks him in the top 100 on the list. This has been possible with the help of his TaylorMade Qi10 “Dot” (10.5 degrees), which he uses with the Graphite Design Tour AD XC 6 TX shaft. These are priced at $599.99 but are currently available for $499.99 on the official website. It gives him an optimized distance and enhanced forgiveness.

Maverick McNealy has two fairway woods. One is a 2-wood, the TaylorMade Stealth 2 (16.5 degrees), which he uses with the Fujikura Ventus Black 7 X. The other is a 7-wood, which is the same but with a loft angle of 21 degrees. He uses it with the Fujikura Ventus Red 8 X shaft. They are priced at $349.99 but are currently listed for $229.99 each on the website. These are known to give high MOI performance and precision.

For the Irons, the 29-year-old uses the TaylorMade “Proto” (4), and TaylorMade P7TW (5-9) with the True Temper Dynamic Gold Tour Issue X100 shaft. Each of these irons has been made to meet the Tiger’s discerning eye—longer blade length, thinner topline, progressive face height, and more. They are available at a whopping $1999.99.

For the wedges, Maverick McNealy uses the Titleist Vokey Design SM10 (46-10F, 50-08F, 54-08M), which are available between $189 to $225 per club. He also has another wedge, which is the Vokey Design WedgeWorks (58-L @59). He uses both of them with the True Temper Dynamic Gold Tour Issue S400.

McNealy ranks 20th on the list of Putts per round, with a field average of 28.30. This has been possible with the help of the Toulon Design Prototype. These have been completely reimagined to improve performance with a new Deep Diamond Groove, making it the perfect choice.
