“Catch Me If You Can, Mr. Holmes,” the iconic dialogue from, holds a lot of meaning to those who know about the series Sherlock Holmes. It’s an open challenge. What if I tell you the 2024 Masters champion, Scottie Scheffler, is now here with the same intentions? That’s right. The Augusta Showdown is knocking on the door, and it’s time for the golfers to get ready for the battle of the green jacket. Last year, Scottie Scheffler claimed the title in a dominating fashion. Coming to the year 2025, the golfer has some strong words for his fellow pros. What are those?

Recently, Scheffler was reliving his win on the Augusta National while watching a video from last year. The Masters on X shared the clip with the caption, “A glimpse inside a champion’s mind. Watch Scottie Scheffler explain his strategy, mindset, and approach to every single hole at Augusta National.” As it happened, the golfer with a strong look in his eyes said, “Listen, I am not gonna come to you.” Then what do these golfers need to do if they want to win? Well, Scheffler has the answer to that as well, as he said, “If you want to win this tournament, you are gonna have to come catch me.”

His blistering six words are enough to let anyone know how challenging it’s going to be. However, just a while after that, his face turned into an emotional one. As he continued, Scheffler, with a soft look on his face further added, “You guys are going to try to make me cry.” With a laugh, he said, “So 22 was awesome, you know, first masters and Meredith was there it was pretty cool and then 24 was a bit different cuz Meredith wasn’t there and you know I am usually looking for her after the tournament.”

Last year, during the Masters, his wife was pregnant and was not present on the greens. When he was asked about what he would do if his wife went into labor earlier and during the Masters week. Scheffler had a straight response as he said, “I’ll be out of here.” That’s right, he was ready to leave the Major behind as the family is his top priority. However, he also prioritizes his caddie as much as he prioritizes his family. Further in the video, Scheffler revealed that he didn’t want to do the champion walk alone and called out his caddie, Tedd Scott.

“Because it was important, I felt like, for Teddy to have this moment with me as well. Just because he puts in so much work at the beginning of the week, I mean, he knows every inch of the golf course, and you know he is a huge part of me being able to win the tournament,” Scheffler added while crediting his bag man. It’s true that the Masters win holds a huge meaning to his life, but can it be compared to the feeling Scheffler had at the 2024 Paris Olympics?

Scottie Scheffler bawls his eyes out

Anyone who saw Scottie Scheffler at the Paris Olympics can agree that it was sensational, to say the least. He was not even in the top 3 after the third round, as  Xander Schauffele and Jon Rahm were looking strong to win the gold. However, after shooting a 67 in the third round, the golfer started closing in. As the final round began, the ultimate race was on, and Scheffler took over the field and carded nine birdies to win the gold for America.

Following that, the gold medalist attended the ceremony and sang his country’s national anthem. Even before it was finished, the golfer was overjoyed and couldn’t control his tears and bawled his eyes out. Love for America was evident in Scheffler’s eyes. It was the first time anyone saw Scottie Scheffler in tears after winning a tournament.
