Regarded as the Scientist for his ingenious techniques, Bryson DeChambeau truly had nothing to be upset about anymore at the 2024 Masters. He finally got his dream start, despite the long wait of 2.5 hours. He went along the greens at the Augusta National Golf Club to an opening 7-under 65 to become the only one taking the lead on the leaderboard.

The 2020 US Open Champion expertly drove the ball down the center of the fairway with his opening shot and approached the first birdie on his scorecard. The thirty-year-old carded back-to-back birdies, first at the Pink Dogwood and then at the Flowering Peach. However, he ended his front nine on a rather somber note with a bogey at Carolina Cherry (par-4, ninth hole.)

He was at just 2-under when he moved to the back nine and was only a few strokes behind the early pace setters. That was when he switched gears. He still managed to get through the par 4s at the 10th and 11th holes and found his way to a birdie on the Golden Bell, the 12th hole. Before he got his fifth birdie on the last hole of the amen corner, three more birdies waited for the Scientist at the Firethorn, Redbud, and Nandina. Ending the round on a spectacular note with a total of 8 birdies and just 1 bogey and winning over three hearts of the spectators!
