Masters 2023 is right around the corner, and the fans of Tiger Woods are super excited this year. It might be the year to add another major championship to his 15 times. However, there has been a provision for hosting dinners for the field since 1952. Every year ahead of Masters, last year’s winner hosts a dinner in honor of all previous champions. This year Scottie Scheffler will do the honors. But Sergio Garcia, the all-time rival of Woods, will also be there. Is it going o be awkward?

Sergio Garcia came clean about awkwardness with Tiger Woods

LIV Golf Latest posted a snippet of a press conference with the Spaniard Sergio Garcia. It was about the pro golfer’s response when asked if there could be some awkwardness at the Masters Champions Dinner. Garcia said, “I don’t know you have to ask whoever is going to feel awkward. I’m not gonna, I’m not gonna, I’m gonna feel fine.” Indicating towards Woods indirectly, he said, “I mean, I don’t have any problems with anyone, and I try not to make make a big deal out of it.”

He further explained the reason and said, “So, you know, I’m, I’m gonna be there because I earned it because I deserve it, and I’m gonna enjoy it and, you know, I hope the rest of the guys do the same.” The PGA Tour pro and the LIV defector do not like each other. The history of their feud dates back to 1999. At that time, the Spaniard was 19 years old. He was snapped, giving Woods 24 daggers when the pro claimed his second major.

Woods’ chances of winning at the PGA Championship at Medinah were by one stroke. Post victory, the former PGA Tour pro congratulated his rival with a hug. Little did we know the truth. According to reports, they were playing along for the cameras. There was also a time when the former number-one golfer signed a hat for Garcia as a joke. However, what began as a playful competition took an unexpected direction. The two later played in a made-for-TV match in 2000.

Is the menu of the Masters Champions dinner boring?

Masters 2022 ended with Scottie Scheffler grabbing the trophy by beating Rory McIlroy by three strokes. After that, Paige Spiranac took to her podcast, Playing a Round with Paige, to diss the winner. “I think that his champions dinner next year is going to be boring,” she claimed. But he proved her wrong.

According to Spiranac, it would be “mac and cheese, steak. Beans and coleslaw.” However, the defending champion’s Masters dinner menu had a “Texas Ribeye Steak” and “Family Style Mac & Cheese.” Even though she predicted the menu correctly, her “boring” remark about the dinner menu was wrong.
