If there’s one person who has influenced Charley Hull the most, it is her father. And Charley Hull has never shied away from bringing her father into the conversations. In fact, Hull was introduced to the sport by her father at the age of 2! Two months ago, heading into the 2025 season with her strong performances, she recalled one of her father’s advice: “It’s being comfortable with being uncomfortable, as my dad has always told me pain is a weakness of the mind.” The result? Her intense workout routine is pretty good for her performance in the greens. Take her latest performance at the ongoing Ford Championship, for instance. In the first round, she made nine birdies in a beautiful bogey-free 63. The result of this performance? Her 12-year professional career’s lowest score! Of course, this score is the talk of the town.
After the round, Charley Hull sat down for a press conference for the Ford Championship. There, she was asked if an aggressive approach towards her game was fun. She answered positively. “Yeah, I looked at the first two days didn’t really feel like it suited my eye. I spoke to my dad this morning and he was like, when you first played the CME Tour Championship back in 2015 you didn’t feel like that suited your eye, but then the next year went out and won it and suited my eye. I was like, oh, yeah. That’s a good point.”
Back in 2016, Hull was playing to win her first LPGA event. Hull started out nervously with wayward shots and then regained her composure and extended her lead to two strokes. Additionally, her father has been present for her other major events as well. For instance, the AIG Women’s British Open. Then, her father, Dave, had mentioned how impressed he was with her game. He said, “I can tell her, but she found out for herself, that’s good. I was quite pleased.”

She added to this conversation by saying, “So I just trusted my driver today, and I think that was a massive thing. I had confidence in it.” Hull recently made changes to her driver, trusting TaylorMade for her game. “I putted pretty well,” she said, “I chipped pretty well. I hit it pretty well with my iron shots.” Hull was still using the 2024 model Qi10 LS Driver and then changed to the 2025 Qi35 LS. Besides, it is not just her father and her clubs that are elevating her game to this level. It is herself.
Charley Hull continues to elevate her game with her hard work
“Nice 6.20 miles this morning so 10km in 53:22 mins,” said Charley Hull’s update as she showed off her intense endurance training. It has been fine until now. After all, Charley Hull is known for her intense workout regimen, which includes golf drills, weightlifting, and cardio exercises. Back in 2024, preparing for the ISPS HANDA Women’s Scottish Open and dealing with a shoulder injury, Hull shared her workout routine. It was tougher than most of us even dream of!

The routine started with a 3km row, setting a controlled pace of 2:30 to 2:40 per 500m. Next, she included more demanding exercises with four rounds of Bulgarian split squats and hip thrusts. All of this during an injury! That is why it was not very surprising when Charley Hull shared that bloodied picture of her foot on her Instagram story with the caption: “Bled through shoe 😂 no pain no gain.” Yes, it happened ahead of the Ford Championship.

She started off her day with a run and went so hard on the treadmill that she bled through her socks and shoes. Despite the swarm of concerned fans, Hull seemed pleased with her 10k time of 53 minutes and 22 seconds. In fact, before the Thursday round itself, she a 7K on a treadmill. It wasn’t enough, however. She added rowing thresholds and some lower-body workouts and remained in the gym from 4 am to 6 am. Intense as it is, it is certainly helping in her games.
This 2025 season, Charley Hull has done pretty well this year. She started off her year with the Founders Cup and finished T19.
