LIV Golf pros might have just become eligible for the Ryder Cup but they still cannot earn the points to make it on the list through LIV Golf. Furthermore, their chances of becoming captain’s choice are rare. However, it does not mean that they will not have fun! Well, the Ryder Cup has 12 players but LIV Golf’s team has only four. On top of that, the Ripper GC never had the chance to make it to the Ryder Cup as they are Australians. So, Marc Leishman decided to recreate a popular moment in Dallas.
Cameron Smith’s team won two back-to-back events in Adelaide and Singapore. They cemented a third-placed ranking before the LIV Golf Team Championship. But because of their camaraderie, they were predicted to reach the podium. And they did after defeating Dustin Johnson’s team by four strokes. The celebrations included a lot of champagne, confetti and whatnot. What it also entailed was Leishman having fun and pulling a Viktor Hovland card.
After winning the 2023 Ryder Cup, Team Europe posed with their significant others as they celebrated with a kiss. However, since Hovland was alone he lay on the ground, just happy to be there. Leishman also did the same thing as his teammates, Smith, Lucas Herbert, and Matt Jones as they embraced their wives.

Being single is hard when all your friends are in a relationship. But that’s not the case for Marc Leishman. Just to clear the air, the Ripper GC member has a loving wife and three children. But they were not in Dallas to cheer him up and cheering for him from Virginia Beach. So, just for this instance, Leishman was the lone guy without his partner and he made many people relate to him. As this fan said, “Most relatable golf photo I have seen on IG.” On account of relatability, another fan reciprocated the same feeling and said, “When your mates bring the girls on a golf trip!!-ML 2024″
The champagne showers after Ripper GC won did not come to a halt. They celebrated with it on the 18th green as they reached the podium and lifted the trophy. Although Leishman looked sad in the picture, this one fan commented how he was the winner among all four because he owned the Leishman Lager, and said, “Yes but Marc also owns a brewery, so who’s the real winner.” Another user highlighted how the Aussie pro was looking side and said, “Awesome. Great picture. I’m sure Leashy was feeling the love.”
The original behind the iconic pictures from Hovland’s Ryder Cup was of Rickie Fowler. Although he is now married and has two children, at the 2016 Ryder Cup, he did not. So, when Team USA celebrated the victory over the Europeans and kissed their partners, Fowler just shrugged it out, standing alone in the middle. And that’s how the trend started and Leishman got a new name. This user said, “Leesh – The 🇦🇺Ricky Fowler.” Another fan was impressed by the 40-year-old wits and they said, “That’s gold.”
