Recently PGA Tour members were given a new way out, they are being offered a new DP world tour category. This move is a part of the strategic alliance which has taken place between the two prominent tours from the world of golf.

It was also made clear that players who finish between the position 126 to 200 on the PGA Tour FedEx Cup Fall points list will be offered full DP World Tour membership for the next season. This may be seen as a move to counter the dominance of the LIV golf league. Be that as it may, this golfer is not happy.

Eddie Pepperell, who is a prominent figure in the world of golf, has voiced strong criticism regarding the strategic alliance between the DP World Tour and the PGA Tour.

This alliance allows the top 10-ranked players on the European circuit, who aren’t already exempt, to earn PGA Tour cards for the following season. The DPWT golfer views this alliance as a potential disaster for the DP World Tour since it basically sends its best players to the PGA Tour. He said: “I can’t think of any good business that tries to not retain its clients, if you like, just give the best ones away. That makes no sense to me.”

However, from the players’ perspective, it’s an opportunity to compete on the biggest stage, the PGA Tour. The 10 players who earn PGA Tour cards through this partnership will primarily play golf in the United States and they are guaranteed high-category DP World Tour status in 2025, even if their PGA Tour venture doesn’t succeed.
