The LPGA 2nd event in Asia, the BMW Ladies Championship, has just ended. Minjee Lee came out victorious after defeating America’s Alison Lee in the playoffs by putting birdie.

Minjee Lee debuted in 2015, and it’s been 9 years since she has been on tour. The Australian had bid farewell to her 5-year-long caddie and now has a new caddy who, it seems, will accompany her for a long time to come.

In the final round of the BMW Ladies Championship in Seowon Hill, Korea, Minjee Lee and Alison Lee both finished at 16-under 272. At the playoff hole, M. Lee birdied the par-4 and won the championship.

This was Lee’s 10th win on the tour and second victory in her last three starts. She also won the Krogers Queen City Championship in September with her new caddie Rance De Grussa on the bag. Both are fellow Australians and have been together since July.

In her post-match conference, she was asked about whether she will be continuing with Grussa. She answered positively and said, “I think so. Yeah, Brad and I have been working together since maybe June or July, so it’s quite recent. We get on really well because we are both Aussies, so I’m just really happy that I could win here in Korea with him.”

Lee has reached the double-digit in LPGA Tour wins and she is only the third Australian golfer to do so after Jan Stephenson (16) and Karrie Webb (41). There are yet more achievements for Lee to accomplish.

Minjee Lee is eyeing the No.1 rank

Lee stands at number seven in the world ranking and the highest rank she has achieved so far is two. Now, after nine years in the game, Lee has one goal on her mind – to be the world’s number one.

She expressed her desire when asked about career goals. Lee said, “I still haven’t been able to reach world No. 1 yet. So that is the goal for me and that is where I want to reach.” Maybe in the next few years, Lee will lead the world ranking.
