The LPGA is now preparing for its upcoming major competition, the US Women’s Open, following the successful conclusion of the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship earlier this month. This prestigious competition will be held at the Pebble Beach Golf Links from July 6–9. The purse for the event is a hefty $10,000,000.

Michelle Wie West is a big name in golf. She is a role model for many. She stands out due to an impressive career she has built over the years. Wie West qualified for the USGA amateur championship at the tender age of just 10 years old, and there was no surprise when she was dubbed “the Tiger Woods of women’s golf” by many.

However, last year, she stepped away from golf largely on account of health issues, and fans have waited long for her to make a comeback. At last their wish comes true. She is back in action for the US Women’s Open this year. Her 2014 US Open win gives her an exemption to play in the upcoming event. And she is making the most of the opportunity, enthralling viewers with her practice sessions.
But this is likely to be her swansong. On its Instagram, ‘No Laying Up’ posted a video of the Pebble Beach Golf Links. The caption on the video read: “The Big guy takes on the U.S. Women’s Open venue as Michelle preps for her final event as a pro.”

In it, the host Phil Landes had a practice session with Wie West. At some point, he said, “This is going to be her final US Open.” After that, Wie West said that her big dream was obviously to win. The fact that this is going to be her last appearance has put the spotlight completely on her.

Recently, she hosted the Mizuho Americas Open where she introduced a new format. 120 LPGA players competed against 24 amateur golfers! There was a lot of appreciation for this.
