The Solheim Cup is halfway through having its winner declared on Sunday. The fans of both teams are present on the field supporting their team. However, as excited as the supporters walked in to cheer, the arrangement was not as good as an International Golf event should have been, per reports. To begin with, several people could not even enter the Robert Trent Jones Golf Club despite having the tickets.
This was because they were standing outside the gate. Additionally, even the shuttle bus had occurrences of obstacles. This was during the teeing off of European players Esther Henseleit, and Charley Hull, and American players Nelly Korda and Allisen Corpuz. For the opening round, the fans waited for several hours after the conclusion of the opening ceremony.
The same problem prevailed even on Friday, and the Solheim Cup became a disaster for the excited spectators. They had to gather in huge lines to walk out. Adding to this was the fact that there were no special arrangements made for the disabled fans, and they had to suffer in the course.

A few hours ago, Golfweek’s Beth Ann Nichols took to her official X account and shared pictures of the course displaying people standing in the queue. She highlighted the problem, “The line to leave is so long right now that it’s nearly out the front gate. A man in line had his stopwatch going. There’s only one van for those with disabilities. A man from Arizona waiting now estimated he’d have a 90-minute wait. The van only fits two chairs at a time.”

The situation seemed quite out of hand as even NUCLR Golf shared videos of people trying to walk out of the course but failing to do so. The post was filled with an outraged audience who have been waiting to watch the Solheim Cup for months but also missed the No. 1 player Nelly Korda.
The golf community bashes the LPGA Tour with utter sarcasm!
The opening match was that of Nelly Korda and Co. They teed off close to 90 minutes later than the assigned time at 7:05 am local time. During the tee-off, a video even surfaced which showed a father and two of his children watching the shots on their phone. This was because ever since they came, the queue had been so long, and barely moved. They could not even move 10 feet ever since.
Now, the golf fans have become so enraged that they resorted to make fun of the Tour on the Women’s Golf circuit. One of the families, for whom it took almost an hour to reach the parking from the course wrote, “Made it to our car…just under an hour. Not awful…”
The LPGA Tour was forced to make an open apology to all the spectators of the 2024 Solheim Cup edition due to all the mishaps. They made an official statement on all their social media accounts and stated that there have been significant changes made to the transport system. Additionally, the statement also stated that they are trying to look for ways to compensate for the loss.
Nonetheless, there has been no such announcement as to what they will do to compensate. Taking to this, one of the fans wrote, “Have they said what they are going to do to compensate these people that have had to deal with their incompetence?”

Mollie Lawrence has been on the committee for quite some time on the LPGA Tour. Although she was appreciated for her gameplay during her days of being a player. However, she has not received much due after getting into the committee of the Tour. After the Solheim Cup incident, one of them even suggested she retire. They wrote, “Self-inflicted wound by the @LPGA. This will have a lasting negative effect. Time for Mollie to resign. This should have never happened. Terrible.”
While another directly stated, “Dreadful embarrassment. Heads should roll (not literally, of course).” One spectator simply blamed the entire system for missing out on the first and the most important tee pairing writing, “Never got to see first groups tee off in the morning and because we chose to leave early because of bus debacle…didn’t get to see final matches into the late afternoon. Unacceptable LPGA!”
There was another fan who resorted to extreme sarcasm stating how there might be huge growth in the players and system of gameplay in the women’s golf world ever since the inception of the Tour. However, there has rarely been any such issue on the men’s golf circuit. Be it the PGA Tour, the DP World Tour, or any other. This automatically states how the conditions are only going backward.

They wrote, “Way to grow the women’s game. Wait in line for busses both ways while missing golf. Awesome. Not like it takes just basic multiplication and division to figure out how many busses you need.”
